About

It is illegal to prune, remove, poison or damage a tree without Council approval. If you believe unauthorised tree works have taken place on Council land or private property, you can report it to Council.

More information

Before submitting a report please check the following:
  • Check if approval exists - Search the location of the tree on our online mapping tool. Approved tree works for the selected property will show in the left hand column, below the property and planning details.
  • Note exemptions - Some works may be exempt or approved under other legislation (e.g. Development Applications).
  • Threatened species communities - Suspected unauthorised works on threatened species must be reported to the NSW Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water (DCCEEW).

Submit a request

If the tree works are not approved, you can report it to Council. Please provide:
  • Property address where the works occurred
  • Description of the activity, including date and time
  • Photos (if available)
  • Your name and email address - so Council can respond to you
When a form is received, Council will investigate, gather evidence and apply penalties where appropriate. Council will then send a response.
