About

Street sweeping helps keep roads clean, safe and free of debris such as leaves, dirt and litter. Regular sweeping improves stormwater quality by preventing pollutants from entering drains and local waterways.
Ku-ring-gai Council manages street sweeping on local roads. The frequency of sweeping depends on factors such as tree coverage, traffic levels and seasonal leaf fall.
Council contractors undertake routine street sweeping as part of a scheduled maintenance program. Streets with a kerb and gutter are swept on a four-week rotation, while uncurbed streets are serviced on an eight-week cycle.
