Council needs to ensure all driveways and vehicle crossings over the gutter are safe and provide appropriate access.
Before starting any work on a driveway crossing, footpath or the road reserve, Council approval is required. Failing to obtain approval may result in the work being demolished and reconstructed at your cost.

Under the Roads Act 1993, property owners are responsible for all costs related to the construction, maintenance, and repair of vehicular access between the road pavement and the property boundary line.
If you intend to retain the existing driveway and perform surface maintenance, no formal approval is required.
However, any modifications to the driveway's levels, design or location will require the submission of a driveway application.
